Hamilton Soaring Club maintains a practical training and soaring fleet for students, members, and passenger flights.
Schweizer 2-33
The club operates two Schweizer 2-33 gliders. The 2-33 is a two-place training glider used primarily by students. It has an L/D of 23:1.
Schweizer 2-32
The 2-32 is a larger two-place, high-performance Schweizer glider used for instruction, passenger flights, and soaring with excellent cockpit visibility.
Schweizer 1-26E
The club operates two Schweizer 1-26E gliders. The 1-26 is the next step after the 2-33. It is a single-seat glider with an L/D of 23:1.
Schweizer 1-26C
An older model of the 1-26 with nearly identical performance to the 1-26E. Students fly the 1-26C after demonstrating proficient flight skills.
Grob G103 Twin Astir
The Grob is a dual-seat glider with an L/D of 37:1 and gives students and pilots an excellent opportunity to learn from one another.
Towplanes
Our towplane fleet supports weekend soaring operations, training launches, and club events at Hamilton Municipal Airport.
Cessna 182D
A dependable high-wing towplane used for aero-tow operations and day-to-day launch support.
Callair A-9B Super
A purpose-built towplane with strong short-field utility and the muscle to keep glider operations moving.
